Prof. Yifang Wang presented about New Discovery from Daya Bay Reactor Neutrino Experiment
On March 12, 2012, Prof. Yifang Wang, the director of IHEP CAS, was invited to present the recent result from Daya Bay reactor neutrino experiment in the academic hall, department of modern physics, USTC. The symposium was presided over by Prof. Qi An, vice director of State Key Laboratory. Daya Bay experiment found a new kind of neutrino oscillation, and the result has been submitted to PRL. Except for BES international collaboration, the Daya Bay neutrino experiment is another international cooperation project established in China, aimed to determine the least-known neutrino mixing angle theta13.The observation of electron anti-neutrino disappearance and precise measurement will complete the understanding of the neutrino oscillation and pave the way for the future understanding of matter-antimatter asymmetry in the universe, provide a more solid research foundation experimentally for the next generation neutrino experiments in the future.
